How acupuncture supports IVF

Early research found that IVF with acupuncture increased the odds of pregnancy by 65 percent (based on early ultrasound evidence), increased the odds of ongoing pregnancy by 87 percent (at 12 weeks) and increased the odds of a live birth by 91 percent, compared with IVF alone. Three stages where we can help
Preparation: Support can begin months, weeks or even days before your procedure. We combine acupuncture and herbal medicine with lifestyle advice, nutrition, breathing and gentle exercise to create the best possible conditions for conception.
During your cycle: Working alongside your clinic, acupuncture helps increase blood flow to the uterus, improve the thickness and quality of the endometrial lining and prepare your body for implantation. It can also ease common side effects of medication, such as bloating, mood swings and digestive discomfort.
Embryo transfer: Research suggests that acupuncture before and after embryo transfer can improve your chances of pregnancy by relaxing the uterus, easing cramping and reducing the effects of stress. We offer flexible appointments across our central London clinics, so we can fit around short-notice transfer dates.
